20-Up

Hello fellow Vipers fans.

I’ve been combing the GBL transactions page (link in the sidebar) and reading the news releases (ditto sidebar) while maintaining a list of what our 2009 Calgary Vipers could look like.  Just as my list was taking form and starting to look like rumour and innuendo worth publishing, the Vipers signed seven more players to give them a total of twenty warm bodies – and they put most of that info into one tidy release.

Let’s check the math with my list (A.T.T. = “Agreed To Terms”):

Where Art Thou?:

Gone:

  • OF – Jorge Tang (Mar 2, released)
  • OF – Willie Keene (Feb 2, traded for Mark Okano)
  • LHP – Adam Revelette (Feb 2, traded for Mark Okano)
  • OF – Darryl Brinkley (Feb 2, traded for APTBNL)
  • RHP – Nate Melek (Jan 26, traded for Willie Keene and Adam Revelette)
  • 1B/OF – Seth Loman (Jan 23, sold to the Chicago White Sox)
  • RHP – Eric Van Slyke (Dec 9, traded for Seth Loman)
  • DH – Felix Jose (Oct 30, released)
  • RHP – Sean Kramer (Oct 30, released)
  • RHP – Phil Sobkow (Oct 30, released)
  • RHP – Mac Suzuki (Oct 30, released)

I’ve provided links to the posts in which I, in my haphazard and reckless way, analyze the player.  Looks like I’ve still got a bit of work ahead of me.
