Seth Loman Watch: Day 128

According to my stats, Seth Loman is the #2 search term that lead people to this obscure, irrelevant corner of the internet.  He’s popular.

We here at Ten Prairie Sticks have started our own Seth Loman Watch, beginning retroactively on December 9th, 2008 – when the slugger was signed by the local baseball heroes.

Loman, after having his contract bought by the Chicago White Sox, is now on the roster of the Winston-Salem Dash, who play (Advanced) A ball in the Carolina League.  The Dash used to be known as the Warthogs, which is a much better name for a baseball team.  The Vipers still have his indy ball rights, and have left the door open.  Says Peter Young:

“We’re also waiting to see if Seth Loman sticks with the Chicago White Sox organization in extended spring training. If he becomes available that would add another great offensive threat”.

I’d say the chances of this happening are unlikely.  Loman has 4 RsBI and is posting batting splits of .364/.417/.455 in three games.  Sure, it’s just three games, but a hot start certainly can’t hurt Loman’s chances of sticking in affiliated ball and maybe even moving up the ranks.

We’ll keep the Seth Loman Watch active.  He is, after all, a popular player on this site – even though he never played a game for the Vipers.
