Who’s ready for a weekend of baseball? I know it’s June and all, but hopefully the weather holds. I for one am looking forward to an entire weekend spent at the hallowed grounds of Foothills Stadium.
The foothills staff looks prepared for anything tonight. All concessions are open, an army of 8 is working the grill, and there are even kids walking up and down the aisles selling popcorn and cotton candy.
Unstopable Eric “Dechain” Dessau takes the mound for the heroic Calgary Vipers. After some bad luck on a few seeing-eye ground balls in the first, dude started racking up the outs. Seven innings, seven hits, one run.
With the bat, Dessau ripped a single, a sac fly RBI, and a sac bunt.
Where’d this Little Slider come from?
Jonny “Cowboy” Kaplan saved a run with a nice over the shoulder catch in the first, and saved an out with sly fake-out baserunning in the fourth. Smart player, and a beauty to watch.
By the way, that out Kaplan saved (Caonabo Cosme), and Kaplsn himself, both scored that inning.
Sick double play turned by the heroes in the fifth. Mejia to Reyes to Edgecombe. Sounds poetic to me.
Brian Oliver comes on in the eigth with two on and one out and a precious two run lead. Needless to say, his two strikeouts were huge. Amazing pitching.
The sevens on the backs of Orange County jerseys look like question marks.
